What a beautiful day!

I say that every day now. We’ve had several in a row, but I think I will go on saying how wonderful they are every time we have them.

Other things I’m grateful for:
Green Mini’s, like the one I’m parked behind now…

This one belongs to a Covenant Alum, and I’ve actually driven it, if only for two blocks!

On the bright side (can life get any better than being parked behind a green mini?) I’m in Greyfriar’s attempting to do a sociology project, yet no one is coming in the doors. So, that’s on standby for now. I guess I will do other homework until we get some activity down here. (Trey, I tried to find you before I left.)

Well, I’ve been thinking recently that although being a mean, bitter and sarcastic person certainly has its benefits, it is much better not to be someone like that! First off, being such a dry individual adds a layer of protection to your armor. You can pretend not to love, not to care, not to live, and that’s all good. Your the tough bulwark of stone and iron, unshaken and unmoved. And yet… you miss so much. Better to go through life taking the full force of all cuts and blows than to deceive yourself into thinking that you are unaffected by them. Better to understand how frail you are so that you will rely fully on Jesus the Christ. He knows that we are but dust, and he will take care of us. Yet let us not presume that we don’t need Him or that we can sustain ourselves even for one moment.

Aside: I thought I would rename my blog Word of Wisdom & Insight, then have the sub-heading read: What?! Still looking?

  1. I like the new blog name! I like the Mini too… man, it’s too bad no one got to tag along for the ride, huh? Just kidding…

Hey, don’t worry about the Sociology project. I was working on my paper at the time anyway. Thanks for looking for me!

  2. Today has been an absolutely beautemous day as well! Ahh, Greyfriars…how’d that end up working out for you? Kara and Joy and I went to O’Charley’s and ended up being rather obvious about peering around things to see people coming through the doors…and it definitely did not feel like as much of an adventure as Waffle House did. And good, good thoughts on “being a mean, bitter and sarcastic person” :) — God’s really revealing to me the reasons of *why* it’s not pleasing to Him when I try to put up that armor. I’m still wondering, though…what is appropriate for us to laugh at? So much of humor is people laughing at others’ expense. Laughter and humor are part of God’s creation; how can we best use those things to love God with everything we have, as well as love our neighbor? (my apologies…this is another one of those wacky questions I’ve been pondering that I like to bring up with you, as you’re a fellow aspiring Christian artist…I’m thinking of this in a broad context, but in the more specific context of the dramatic arts. What is our responsibility to the audience when it comes to humor?)

  3. holy cow; sorry bout the long comment! I guess when I get going, I really get going…
