Way down south…

One of the benefits of living in the south is that we do southern things here. One of my favorite southern things to do is sit out on the back porch, sipping fresh lemonade or sweet tea, while we watch the sun set. A close second is to eat my famous strawberry shortcake. Consequently, I don’t do either of these activities very often. Yet tonight, after mowin’ the front and back 40, after picking home-grown blueberries (sweet nectar of the gods!), and after searching for a job, these dreams came true.

  1. Dang, buddyroe! How come you’ve never made this for us?? How come this wasn’t part of the Spring Break Breakfast?? Zach and I stared at the picture in wonder and now, even though we just gorged ourselves on Oreosm we really really want some strawberry shortcake!

  2. Good grief, I’ve never seen such a beautiful edifice of berries and pastry! When next semester rolls around we need to find an occasion special enough for you to craft that masterpiece once again…

Darn you Wilson, I got drool on my shirt!

  3. I’m just putting in a request that you include me in the guest list for Trey’s suggested “occasion special enough”…

  4. Well that just ruins me being so proud of myself for making brownies yesterday. Mmmm…that looks so good. I’ve been living in the south for over half my life now, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone sitting on their back porch sipping lemonade or tea. But all of my old northern friends ask me if I do that. Supposedly I’m supposed to do that to be a real southerner.

  5. You artsy fartsy socialist little dweeb! I’ll show you censorship!
    Yours truly.

  6. I believe the eminent Mr. William Murray would be more accurately quoted with the following: “you SOCIALIST artsy-fartsy little dweeb!”
